Graduated from the sculpture department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2000, Evrim Kavcar (b.1976) received her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute (2003) on a Fulbright scholarship, and PhD from MSU (2011). She studied Foto-Film and animation at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2010-2011). Her artistic research called Records of Breath has inspired an extensive multidisciplinary research that is a collaboration between professionals from computer engineering (A.I), sound studies, psychiatry and digital humanities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2018 Kavcar has been working as a duo with Elif \u00d6ner. She is head of the Cartoon and Animation Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and co-founder of the artist duo Sensitive Sounds with Elif \u00d6ner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evrim Kavcar is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. She completed her MFA at the San
Francisco Art Institute and her proficiency in sculpture at the Sculpture Department of
MSGS\u00dc. Kavcar is one of the founding members of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mardin Artuklu
University and the Nesin Art Village. Her individual and collaborative works have been
exhibited internationally, including at the 28th Istanbul Film Festival, PiST, ARTER, 17th
Istanbul Biennial, Sinopale 8, Borusan Contemporary, PASAJ, KASA Gallery, the 3rd Mardin
Biennial, nGbK, Galerie Nord, and the Taiwan Medical Humanities Museum.She has also
participated in programs such as the Berlin Senate Artist-in-Residence Program and SAHA
Studio.
Kavcar focuses on fragile and peculiar moments of encounter with animals, plants, and
various entities in her artistic practice. Since 2018, she has been collaborating with Elif \u00d6ner
as the artist duo Sensitive Sounds, exploring the personal, social, and cultural dimensions of
sound. Presently, she has a role as the head of the Cartoon and Animation Department at
Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her work is positioned at the intersection of artistic research and visual experimentation, where fragile forms of attention, movement, and perception become central tools for thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
